Youth team wins the eternal derby

The U19 team ended Monday with a victory in the eternal derby! The fourth clash with Maribor in recent days ended with a victory for the juniors, who repeated the success of the older boys. The latter had already defeated their peers 0:2 on Saturday.

At Kodeljevo, the first half deservedly belonged to the Dragons thanks to Svit Hočevar, and then Adriano Rizvić increased the advantage of the green and whites, who had a great opportunity to join the scorers immediately after Olimpija’s first goal in an important match of the 1st SML. The guests managed to return to the game after the break, but in the end they were left with only one goal scored and no points in the fight for the top of the table.

The eternal derby was marked by a scuffle between players from both teams at the end of the match, when two Olimpija players received red cards – goalkeeper Tijan Vasić and the second goal scorer Adriano Rizvić.

Strategist Ivan Senzen sent the following eleven onto the pitch: Vasić, Pirečnik, Ceferin, Pečjak, Hočevar, Rizvić, Kovačević, Komić, Husić, Cedilnik, and later Zver, Mohorovičić, Henjak and Gradišić also appeared.

In the next round (March 14), the green and whites will play away to the leading Domžale.
