Denis Pintol, whose goalkeeping genes were instilled in him, as he is the son of former Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player Ismir Pintol, was a defender in Ajdovščina before joining Olimpija. He played 25 games for Primorje and proved to be one of the best goalkeepers in the 2. SNL. Before moving to the windy city, Pintol played for Gorica (his father also wore the Nova Gorica jersey), Krka from Novo mesto and Brda.

In total, he played 67 games in the 2. SNL and in his younger years he also made two appearances for the Slovenian national under – 18 team.
