At the beginning of the winter preparations for the Dragons, the sporting director Goran Boromisa and the head coach Federico Bessone took the time to socialize with the journalists. They commented on the composition of the team for the second half of the season, result ambitions, the atmosphere in the club, and touched on a few other topics. <\/p>\n
Boromisa on the team before Thursday’s departure for preparations in Spain: “The team is slowly coming together in terms of personnel. Thalisson has left us, and some players have gone on loan. Durdov is a hot commodity on the football market, with interest from Poland and Hungary. We have rejected two serious offers for Urban\u010di\u010d. Of course, we are also looking for some reinforcements. A winger is close to joining, and two more players are planned. Risti\u0107 and Vidov\u0161ek, who we know are important members of the club, are returning to full training highly motivated. We do have some minor health problems, especially with Koji\u0107’s shoulder, but I believe he will be ready for full load in the next 15 days of preparation. In addition, ten players from the youth team are also going to the preparations.”<\/p>\n
Regarding the expected results, he added: “The atmosphere in the club is good. I believe that we have a much better half of the season ahead of us. The coach has been with us for a longer time and has managed to adapt to the Slovenian league. He had the opportunity to get to know the team better. The same goes for the summer newcomers, who have not yet shown everything they know. We will certainly not give up in the league, despite knowing the situation in the standings. On the other hand, there is also the cup, which we must win also for the best possible position in the European qualifications at the beginning of next season.”<\/p>\n
Bessone revealed his view at the beginning of preparations: “We gathered the team on Friday for a group dinner. I also notice a good atmosphere and connection between the guys. After a demanding first half of the season, we all, led by the players, needed some rest. A lot of changes have happened in a short time. It is also important that players are returning from injuries. Vidov\u0161ek and Risti\u0107 will train with the team, and players with minor problems from the end of the autumn part will also return.”<\/p>\n
Regarding the league’s achievements so far and the outlook for the future, he said: “We deserved more. But that’s football: if you don’t take your chances, the result punishes you. I would especially highlight the defeats against Dom\u017eale and Koper. Nevertheless, we returned with clear heads and a positive mindset. I know the team and the league, and it is also clear to me in which details we need to improve. We will address these during the preparations and work hard from day to day.”<\/p>\n
The Dragons are therefore facing departure for preparations on Thursday, where they will prepare in the vicinity of Girona for the demanding second part of the league and cup season. The first competitive challenge is scheduled for January 31, when Mura comes to Sto\u017eice.
