“I’m happy with the win; we had the better of the play, but Primorje could have also turned the game in their favor. I’m frustrated with the start of the second half, when we gave the opponent too much space and could have been punished for it. Later, we regained our composure and scored from two set pieces\u2014both from corners\u2014which is obviously welcome, but how many more chances do we need to put the game to bed earlier? Two clear-cut chances in the first half, a missed penalty, and numerous counter-attacks without a proper finish. We need to fix that,” Bessone said initially.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted the quality of the opponent: “We knew it would be difficult, as Primorje is a significantly better team than their position in the standings suggests. It’s never easy for anyone on this pitch. For me as a coach, it’s always most important that the players don’t run too much off the ball. This pays off later when you’re fresher and can finish the match more easily.”<\/p>\n
Finally, Bessone looked ahead: “We’re continuing our good run of form and we have to enjoy that. We’ve restored the right mindset to the boys; despite lapses in play, we know how to dig in, and we’re capable of scoring at any moment.
