On Sunday at 3:00 PM, the Dragons will face their eternal rivals for another three points and to keep their unbeaten run going, after winning the August derby at Sto\u017eice thanks to a superb goal by Jo\u0161t Urban\u010di\u010d, and drawing 1\u20131 away in the Styrian capital. <\/p>\n
Dragons head coach Federico Bessone took time today to answer journalists\u2019 questions, highlighted both teams\u2019 strong league form, and spoke decisively about the kind of match he expects.<\/p>\n
“Whoever wins the derby will be the national champion! Olimpija and Maribor have been the best teams in the league in the second part of the season, so we know the small details will be crucial to winning the three points. We\u2019ll prepare well for their press and for how to find space in their defensive setup. They\u2019re on a good run of results, so we have to be careful and stay focused throughout the entire match. In football, the result is what matters. The moment you relax a little, football punishes you.”<\/p>\n
“The derby always brings a great atmosphere\u2014something you\u2019d want every weekend. The fans will give us an extra boost. I believe it will be a wonderful day for Olimpija. We\u2019ve created a good atmosphere and the team is ready to respond to things like what happened on Wednesday. In football, you can\u2019t always win. It\u2019s true, we were knocked out by a second-division team, and we\u2019re Olimpija, but now we need to focus on the derby.”<\/p>\n
