On Friday morning, Mi\u0161o Bre\u010dko faced the media for the first time and introduced himself as the Dragons\u2019 new head coach. Ahead of Monday\u2019s first meeting with the squad, he answered questions about his first impressions, expectations and goals in green and white. <\/p>\n
“I\u2019m happy to be here, but at the same time I\u2019m aware of the responsibility that comes with leading a club with the tradition Olimpija has. Just like in life, in sport you can see problems too, but here I mainly see opportunities. We know how much power Olimpija has, and you don\u2019t turn down a club like that. For me there was no dilemma, because I believe in the potential this environment has.”<\/p>\n
“Olimpija has to be successful. That\u2019s the basic goal. We want to play attacking, attractive football, but the result has to come first. It\u2019s still too early to talk about a playing model, because I first need to get to know the team well. But I do want our side to be competitive, compact and to look serious on the pitch.”<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re already in intensive talks with some players, although it\u2019s not easy to bring in every Slovenian we want. We\u2019ll fight for those we believe have the quality for Olimpija. There\u2019s a huge amount of potential in the squad. Olimpija may be a sleeping giant, but we must not forget that in the last four years they\u2019ve been national champions twice. I know the young players well and some academy players will get a chance already in training.
