The juniors are getting closer and closer to the top with another win. Darijan Matić and Matevž Potočnik’s teams also played their new championship matches. In Jama we saw a big win and a draw for the Dragons, who after 19 rounds played are in sixth place in the overall standings. They have 33 points.
The juniors won the EON NEXTGEN League after a turnaround. They beat the leading team Mura 2:1 at Žak and are now directly in the fight for first place. The visitors controlled an interesting game at the beginning, taking the lead before the break thanks to Jaka Domjan, but Boštjan Miklič’s team didn’t give up and deservedly came out victorious. Mura’s defence was beaten by Vall Janković and Marcel Petrov just before the end. Olimpija’s juniors remained undefeated for the fourth time in a row and are currently in fourth place. Third-placed Mura has the same number of points (21), Maribor is second (22) and Brinje Grosuplje is leading (23). A new challenge awaits the U19 team on Monday, 16th of October, when they face Krka. The match will be played away.
The Cadets defeated Krka 6:1, the winner was already known at half-time, when the Green and Whites had a four-goal advantage. Matej Tadić and Svit Hočevar scored twice each, Žiga Pečjak beat the defence also, and Nejc Perše scored one in his own net for Krka. Kristijan Ćosić scored for the visitors late in the match. Cadets are third in the 1. SKL with 20 points. Olimpija is only a point behind the leaders Celje and Bravo.
There were also U15 boys competing in Jama. Clash of the 10th round of the U15 league was better opened from away team, who took the lead in the 11th minute. Tim Kostrevc was at the right place. No goals were scored in the rest of the half, but the final score of the match was set up in 74th minute by Tarik Muslija. The U15 team finished in eighth place after the draw. The two younger teams of the Dragons will play their new matches on Saturday against Dravograd. The two tours will start at 15. 17.
