Speculation is over! The arrival of Mark Brest is the next stone in the Dragons’ mosaic. The young winger, who is very hot at the start of the new season, has signed until 2026. He left Aluminij in exchange for compensation.
Twenty-one-year-old actor from Juršince near Ptuj on his arrival in Ljubljana: “I am looking forward to this new challenge, it is an important step forward in my career and a confirmation of the good work I have done so far. Thank you to my teammates, my coach and all the people at Aluminij for making my career a success and for understanding my desire to leave. And of course, thanks to Olimpija for the trust, which I would like to repay as soon as possible with my performances on the pitch. I have high goals, which are linked to the team’s success. The transfer process took some time, but the decision on where to continue my career was not difficult. When the leading men of the club presented the project to me, we quickly found common ground. I felt it was the right moment to take the next step and I believe that moving to the reigning champions is the right move. I am starting this new story with great motivation, I want to do my part in the fight for trophies in the national championship and cup competitions, but above all I am looking forward to the opportunity to play in the group stage of the European competition.”
In the last two years, Marko Brest has played 69 games for Aluminij. He scored nine times, most recently against Olimpija in Kidričevo, when the match ended 4:5. Our newest member has spent the longest period in football school with Ptuj Drava and also comes as a young player for Slovenia, for whom he has played three times so far.
