After Brest and Mijailovic, Peter Agba of Nigeria is the new Dragon! The 20-year-old defensive midfielder moves to Ljubljana from Zagreb, where he has been developing with second-league side NK Dubrava.
Agba has signed a three-year agreement: “The agent spoke to me some time ago about a possible change of environment and I told him I was interested. Then the president of Olimpija stepped in. In the initial phase of the negotiations, he personally came to Zagreb to talk to me and from that day on I had only Olimpija in mind, even though there were other offers on the table. The leading men showed a real desire, a real interest. They told me that the coach also needed me, so that was a key factor for me. There were a few complications, because my former club didn’t want to let me go, but we reached an agreement and I officially became an Olimpija player. I see the transfer as a very big opportunity! I am as ready and motivated as possible. I’m also very excited, but I don’t take it for granted. I’ve been working hard and waiting patiently for this opportunity for a long time, so I can’t wait to meet the guys and taste the first minutes of the game.”
After arriving in Europe from his native Nigeria, he joined NK Zagorac, and last season he reinforced Dubrava and played in the 2. HNL recorded 34 appearances, 5 goals and 1 assist. Agba, who is at his best in the centre of the pitch, has also played for the Nigeria youth national team in the past.
Peter, welcome to Ljubljana!
