In the last few days, the European national teams have played their first games of October. The Green and Whites were represented by two members and two juniors.
Timi Max Elšnik and the Slovenian national team beat Finland 3-0 in a sold-out Stožice Stadium! The Olimpija captain played the whole game at a very high level. With another qualification win, Slovenia has climbed to the top of Group H and will decide its own fate in last three games. Matjaž Kek’s men will be back in action on Tuesday, when they’ll play in Belfast. The match against Northern Ireland will kick off at 20:45.
Saturday was also a successful one for Justas Lasickas, who beat Bulgaria 0:2 with Lithuania! In Sofia, he assisted the second goal, earned a home sending-off and beat the opposing goalkeeper at the end of the game, but his goal was cancelled by VAR. Lithuania hosts Hungary on Tuesday evening.
Slovenia U21 defeated Cyprus 0:3! Marcel Ratnik played the full qualifying match, Marko Brest came on in 68′. On Tuesday, the young Slovenians will take on Austria in Murska Sobota.
Admir Bristrić scores against France U21 at home! In the 28′, he gave Bosnia and Herzegovina the lead, but they eventually went down 1:2. The next match against Cyprus will be played on 17th of November. The final part of the qualification for the 2025 European Championship will take place next year.
