Sporting Director Necat Aygün announces that Federico Bessone is no longer the head coach of NK Olimpija Ljubljana’s first team.
“After a thorough analysis of our performances throughout the season, I have come to the conclusion that a change in the coaching staff is necessary if we want to bring Olimpija back to the top of the league table. The club’s goal remains to compete regularly in European competitions in the future as well,” said Sporting Director Necat Aygün.
Bessone took over the team last September, when he and his coaching staff assumed responsibility for the Dragons’ results until the end of the competitive year. In 29 league and cup matches, he recorded 15 wins, 6 draws and 8 defeats.
Following the end of the 2025/26 season, in which the team did not meet the club’s set objectives, and after a comprehensive analysis of the team’s performances, a decision was made to change the head coach. His two assistants are also leaving the bench.
“I would like to thank Federico Bessone, Enric Pi Soli and Fran Nunez for their professional attitude, effort and dedication during their work in Ljubljana. We greatly appreciate their contribution to the club and wish them every success in their future sporting and personal journey,” added the Dragons’ Sporting Director Necat Aygün.
