The new addition to the Dragons’ defensive line is 28-year-old Georgian Davit Kobouri! The former member of Hungarian side Ujpest has signed a one-year contract with NK Olimpija Ljubljana, with an option to extend.
The center-back began his football journey in his native Georgia with Dinamo Tbilisi. He quickly became a key member of the senior squad, winning four league titles and two Super Cup trophies with Dinamo. He was a regular in the qualifiers for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. After many successful seasons and as many as 200 appearances for Dinamo Tbilisi, the former Georgian youth international moved to Hungary to join Ujpest, where he made 40 official appearances.
“I am very happy and motivated to be coming to Ljubljana. The club and I share the same goals and ambitions. I want to fight for the top of the table and win trophies. I will give my all to help the team and the club achieve all the set objectives. I have never looked at goals as pressure, but rather as a privilege. I look forward to starting training, meeting my teammates, and of course, the first home match when I will also meet the fans,” said Davit Kobouri upon signing the contract. He will wear the number 23 jersey at Stožice.
