In the 13th round of the Prva liga Telemach, Olimpija hosted Domžale. In the rainy Stožice stadium, the Dragons started the match better and capitalized on their pressure in the 22nd minute with a beautiful free-kick goal by Dimitar Mitrovski, following a foul he earned himself with skillful dribbling.
In the second half, Olimpija started aggressively again but unfortunately burned out in their desire to score a second goal. In the 54th and 74th minutes, Domžale capitalized on two of their rare opportunities when Kahvić and Hrvatin scored with headers, which was enough for a comeback.
After the match, defender Ahmet Muhamedbegović described the reasons for the unsuccessful result to television cameras: “We had everything under control in the first half and should have scored another goal. Usually in football, if you don’t score, it punishes you later. This happened in the second half when Domžale equalized. After that, we became nervous and tried in every way to score our second goal, which unfortunately we didn’t manage to do and it cost us dearly in defense. On Wednesday we have a good opportunity to return to winning ways, which will help us forget this painful defeat. We can play significantly better and we’re aware of that.”
The Dragons have a cup away match in Šenčur on Wednesday at 16:00, followed by an away game in Koper on Sunday as part of Round 14 of the Prva liga Telemach.
