Olimpija head coach Federico Bessone was also pleased with the win over Mura in Round 19 of the Prva Liga Telemach. After an excellent opening to the match, which brought the decisive goal from Pedro Lucas, he still sees plenty of room for improvement. He also highlighted the contribution of returning goalkeeper Matevž Vidovšek, whose saves made him the leading candidate for Man of the Match.
“I saw an excellent first 25 minutes. Above all, you could see the things we worked on during the break, and they worked well. Now we need to extend that spell across the whole match, but it’s certainly easier to fix these things after a win.”
“Vidovšek came back with all his energy, which we missed in the first part of the season. He’ll help us pick up a lot of points going forward, just as he did against Mura. That’s the added value you get from the best goalkeeper in the league.”
Olimpija return to league action on Thursday with an away trip to Aluminij in Kidričevo. The next exciting home test follows on Prešeren Day, Sunday at 3:00 PM, when NK Celje visit Ljubljana. Support the Dragons and get your tickets in our club shop or at vstopnice.nkolimpija.si.
