At today’s press conference before the first match of the first round of Champions League qualifications against Kairat from Almaty, head coach Jorge Simão said about the importance of the match:

“We know that tomorrow’s match is very important, but for us every match is equally important. In the Olimpija jersey, we go for victory in every match, we don’t need additional pressure. Each next match is the most important for us – we must prepare well for it and give our all on the pitch.”

About what kind of Olimpija the fans can expect:

“Above all, I expect a team that goes for victory. I expect the players to show on the pitch the elements we’ve been working on since day one. I feel that the players are very connected with our game idea, and I believe we’re building a style of play that the entire team stands behind – not just individuals. It’s important that the team thinks as one in every moment of the match, and that’s what I expect from tomorrow’s test as well.”

And about the opponent:

“We face a tough opponent who already has 16 league matches behind them this season. They are very dangerous in attack – we’re aware of this and we’ll prepare for it. Like many others to follow, this match will also be demanding, but we expect to complete our task with quality throughout the full 180 minutes. I believe we can be satisfied with the result as well.”
