  • Erwin Van De Looi after the Match against Radomlje

After the international break, Olimpija failed to build on their victory in the eternal derby. Despite leading 0-2 in Domžale, with goals from Diogo Pinto and Ivan Durdov, the Dragons ultimately succumbed to Radomlje, who orchestrated a comeback in the second half.

The green and white strategist Erwin van de Looi: “It’s unbelievable what happened in the second half. We dominated the first part of the game, scoring twice. Given the opportunities, we should have scored even more. During the break, we talked about continuing at the same pace. In such a situation, you need to prevent the opponent, who will certainly make some changes, from getting back into the game, but what followed was a performance that just happened. Very poor and inexplicable.”

“Mistakes happen, every team makes them. But we must stick to the plan and execute things better on the field. Otherwise, it leads to such outcomes – disappointment and anger.”

“If we look at the first half, the play was very good. We had the ball at our feet, pressed, patiently built up our attacks. The response in the second half, in my opinion, is not related to accepting the philosophy. It’s about always being ready to play 90 or more minutes, especially after such a first half when you have everything in your hands.”
