The Green-Whites secured a well-deserved home victory against Radomlje in the 17th round of the 1. SNL. Although the visitors managed to reduce the deficit after being two goals down, the Dragons didn’t allow another slip-up. The hero of the match was Jan Gorenc. The central defender found the back of the net twice.
“It’s the first time in my career that I’ve scored two goals in one match, and I’m very happy that it helped the team secure a win and three important points. We were very good in the first part of the game. Much calmer compared to previous matches. The ball circulated faster, and we created good opportunities. Later, Radomlje took the initiative and showed that they are a very good opponent. Congratulations to all my teammates, including young Pantić, who made his debut today. We helped him in preparation and on the field. He’s a hardworking and diligent guy, and he performed very well in his first appearance,” said Gorenc.
He continued: “We have a cup match against Celje during the week, and we’ll immediately focus our thoughts on that game. It’s an extremely important encounter. The win against Radomlje is very welcome in this context. Many consider it a final before the final, but in reality, it’s just the round of 16. It’s the next step on the important path to the trophy we want to win. We’ll need to be at a high level, but we believe in ourselves.”
