Two NK Olimpija Ljubljana players have been named to Slovenia’s national team squad for the upcoming matches against Hungary and Montenegro. Goalkeeper Matevž Vidovšek returns to the national team after a lengthy absence, while left-back Jošt Urbančič has earned his first senior call-up.

Vidovšek is back in the national team after 280 days of hard work and patience: “I’m very happy and proud to be here again. Every call-up is a tremendous honor and confirmation that hard work pays off. It’s always a special feeling to wear the national team jersey, as you represent your country, the people, and everyone who supports you on this journey.”

Urbančič, who has previously played for youth national team selections, says about his first senior call-up: “This is definitely one of the best moments in my career so far. First, I fulfilled my dream by joining Olimpija, and now with a call-up to Slovenia’s senior team. I’m very grateful for the trust shown by the manager. But I’m well aware that this is just the beginning. I’m heading to the national team with a great deal of motivation and desire to prove myself.”
