Following the unsuccessful outing in Murska Sobota, the Dragons’ head coach, Federico Bessone, offered his perspective on the goalless 28th-round match of the Prva Liga Telemach.
“This was completely different from what we agreed upon and what we had been preparing for in recent weeks. I am disappointed. In the first half, we controlled the play, but we were too slow. In the attacking phase, we weren’t decisive enough. We simply didn’t have players in the opponent’s penalty area. We need to work on this and improve.”
“I don’t want to complain about the pitch; it was slow for them too. In modern football, you have to adapt, so there are no excuses. In the first half, we didn’t have a single shot on target. Why? Because of the grass? No, because we didn’t have a clear idea. We must be self-critical and improve.”
“We always look for positive things, but this time it’s difficult. If you want to finish in the top three, you have to show more here. With all due respect to Mura. We are Olimpija. A player must fight and compete for his club. We will work hard and do everything to improve.”
