Zoran Zeljković’s squad recorded another victory yesterday. The Dragons remained undefeated in their fifth match, winning for the third time in that period. With one more match to go, the Green-Whites are now seven points behind the leaders Celje.
Head coach Zoran Zeljković after Wednesday’s success: “In the end, it’s the points that count. I’m very happy with most of the things shown yesterday. We didn’t leave anything to the opponent, we controlled the match. Of course, we would have liked to finish earlier, but unfortunately that was not the case. Just as the spectators would have liked to, we would have liked to score more. We kept our concentration until the last minute and kept playing. Even though we had a few rotations in the team, we played the way we wanted to play all the time. We can look forward with joy and optimism.”
Before the match against Domžale, the Dragons received shocking news. Antonio Marin injured his anterior cruciate ligament in training and is practically done for the season: “Everyone, including Antonio Marin, was shocked by his injury. Unfortunately, this is part of sport. I hope Marin will come back even stronger. He will receive all the support he needs from the club for a successful recovery. We are already looking forward to seeing him on the pitch again, because he is a really great player.”
Olimpija will play in the 23. Round of 1. SNL away against Aluminij. The match in Kidričevo will start at 17:30: “Our goal is always to win. It will be difficult again on Saturday, we have an away game where it is never easy. Yesterday we had a bit of fun, but today we are already thinking about the next game, which will be very important,” said Zeljković.
