Olimpija defeated Aluminij away by a high margin, with Timi Max Elšnik, Marko Brest and Raul Florucz providing the third win in seven days. After 23 games played, the Ljubljana team has 47 points.
Zoran Zeljković after the Dragons’ highest win on the bench: “The boys played match in Kidričevo very smart. There were a lot of rotations and no matter who plays, I am happy that our image remains the way we want it to be. I am also happy that we were closer to the fifth goal than they were to the first. We were solid again in defence, we created a lot of chances, and this time we had a solid performance. On the other hand, we have to be aware that we have a match of the season in the next round. First we will be a bit free and then we will do everything to keep the three points at home.”
The Green-Whites kept a clean sheet for the second time in a row. After Domžale, Aluminij was also unsuccessful in attack. Goalkeeper Denis Pintol did it for the eighth time this season: “When you keep zero in defence, it’s always good. Sometimes the opponent creates a lot of chances with a result like that, but I didn’t see that this time. I am satisfied with the way the match went.”
1. SNL will continue next weekend, when Celje comes to Stožice. Saturday’s match with the leading team 1. The SNL represents an extremely important moment for Olimpija: “It’s a derby, and nothing you’ve done before counts as a derby. It’s a brand new game and the boys know that if we want to complicate the championship, only winning counts. We will leave our hearts on the pitch. We can all promise that because we know the importance of the game. I believe that with the support of our loud fans we will play well,” said Zeljković.
