Olimpija’s footballers completed their final test in Bled ahead of the start of the new season. After the friendly match against European opponents LNZ Cherkasy, the Dragons’ head coach Mišo Brečko shared his view of the proceedings.
“We got a lot of answers in the dress rehearsal. We’re not completely satisfied with what we saw, but it would be unrealistic to expect a newly assembled team with many new players to function flawlessly right away. Still, we remain positive, as we gained a lot of useful information against the Ukrainian runners-up. Their results in the preparation period also confirm that this is a very high-quality opponent. Maybe the name isn’t the most attractive, but it was a very good test.”
“I’m impressed by the boys’ enthusiasm and work ethic. I’m convinced that the reinforcements who have joined us will bring the fans a lot of joy as well. The attitude of all the players is at a very high level. In football, things don’t click overnight, but I can assure you that everyone who earns their place on the pitch will give everything in every match.”
