Another very successful week for the junior teams is behind us! Both the juniors, cadets and older boys recorded three points, the U19 team visited Velenje, and the U17 and U15 teams traveled to Kidričevo.
EON NEXTGEN Team
Boštjan Miklič’s team continues its good form, the Dragons convincingly won 4-0 in Velenje. The home team’s first goal was scored by captain Tim Matanovič (22′), in the second half Aldin Jakupović (75′), who made his first league debut on Saturday, successfully scored from the penalty spot and increased Olimpija’s lead. Two minutes later, thanks to Dino Kojić (77′), the home team’s goal was scored again, and the final score was set by the returning scorer Kojić (87′), who entered the game in the 66th minute, with his 11th league goal of the season.
The starting eleven of Olimpija in Velenje consisted of Mauricio, Dvoršak, Motika, Pirečnik, Jelen, Porić, Kovačević, Imeraj, Vidmar, Jakupović and Matanovič. In the second half, Kojić (66′), Petrov (82′), Pečjak (82′) and Palić (90′) also entered the game. Kovačević (30′) and Jelen (59′) received yellow cards.
Standings after the 22nd round of the Eon NextGen Youth League: Olimpija 46, Maribor 44, Brinje Grosuplje and Mura 42 each, Celje 37.
The next challenge for the youth squad comes on April 1st at 4pm, when the Nafta team plays in Ljubljana.
U17 Team
The Cadets recorded their third consecutive league victory in Kidričevo on Thursday. We saw two goals early in the match, when Seadin Tafoski (1′) and Mateo Aćimović (3′) scored for the home team, in the second half an own goal was scored by Aluminij player Luka Petek (59′), and the final 4-0 was made by Žiga Pečjak (86′).
For Olimpija, Botonjić, Henjak, Komić, Šega, Tafoski, Novak, Pečjak, Lučić, Talevski, Plava, Aćimović played from the first minute. Later, Kostić (46′), Dobrnjić (67′), Miklavčič (77′), Lavrič (84′) and Šolar (84′) also got a chance. Lučić received a yellow card (55′).
The Young Dragons’ next match is on April 3rd at 2pm, when the eternal derby will take place in Ljubljana. Olimpija is currently in third place, four points behind Bravo and just one point behind Maribor.
U15 Team
The U15 team also recorded three points on the road in Kidričevo. The home team took the lead thanks to Vit Novak (4′), but the Dragons responded in the second half, when Mark Kovše scored two goals (50′ and 61′). In between, home player Gašper Jesenko scored an own goal (55′) and the green and whites celebrated their well-deserved victory.
Olimpija started the match with the following lineup: Jeran, Velić, Rajbar, Bokavšek, Ilisić, Štrekelj, Mešanović, Delak, Kovše, Gazibara, Hočevar. Also from the bench: Isić (41′), Petrov (41′), Zver (52′), Mišvelj (70′) and Porić (79′). Ilisić was sent off (75′) due to a second yellow card.
