The cup victory in the quarter-finals was a firecracker in the Beltinci net. Four scorers – Durdov, Lasickas and Kojić twice in the first half, and Aćimović made his debut just before the end of the match.
“I’m very happy about my first goal in club football! As a child of Olimpija, I dreamed about this moment, so I’m really happy that this dream came true,” said 17-year-old Mateo Aćimović after the victory, who became Olimpija’s youngest scorer in the history of the Slovenian Cup with a goal in the 88th minute.
He continued: “I am grateful for every opportunity I get and will continue to be so in the future. It is necessary to continue working hard. I believe that there are still many great moments ahead of me in the Olimpija jersey and I can’t wait for everything that comes next.”
“We expected a victory, and in the end it was quite a big one. A quick goal certainly made things easier and my teammates and I are fully deservedly in the semi-finals. Now we have the last quarter of the championship ahead of us and a new challenge for our team at this moment is Sunday’s match against Primorje.”
“I would also like to add that we all dedicate the victory in the semi-finals to the deceased fan Nejc. May he rest in peace.”
