After his contract expired, Agustin Doffo said goodbye to the green-and-white shirt at the end of last season, leaving a strong mark in four years. But as he himself said, Olimpija is his home, so he has now returned and signed a new two-year contract with the Dragons.
Upon signing the new deal, the Argentine, who has become one of the club’s key faces with his fighting spirit and attitude towards the badge, said: “I feel great, I’m excited. I’m happy to be back. I can’t wait for us to start the new season together. This is my home. I’ve said many times that Olimpija and Ljubljana are something special. The four years I spent here were truly exceptional. I remember many unforgettable moments. I was always proud to wear this shirt, so I’m extremely happy to be here again.”
“We want to win, bring the club back to the top and repay the fans. Our goal is to fight for the league title and the cup trophy, and to return to Europe as soon as possible. At the same time, I want to enjoy playing for this exceptional club and in this special shirt. Thanks also to the fans for all the positive messages on social media and for the support they showed me even when they met me on the street. I’m the same Doffo as a month ago when I left. On the pitch I will always give everything, fight for Olimpija and do everything in my power for this club.”
With number 34 on his back, 165 appearances, two league titles, a cup trophy and European experience, he will join the Dragons already at Friday’s training session.
Agustin, welcome back!
