The Dragons continued their summer preparations with a friendly match against FK Čukarički. The match at Grosuplje Sports Park ended 3-0 in favour of the Serbian top-flight side, who scored twice in the first half. The green-and-white coaching staff once again gave playing time to two different starting line-ups.
Head coach Mišo Brečko after the match: “We finished the first friendly match with a big win, and in the second we were defeated. Once again, all available players got the opportunity to play, including many young lads, which gave us a good insight into the current state of the team.”
“With this, we concluded the initial, very demanding 14-day period of preparations, which was marked by double training sessions. Such a rhythm naturally brings fatigue and heavy legs, which was also reflected in the game. There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but for this phase of preparations, everything went according to plan. We are satisfied with what has been done.”
“As I said before the first match, the result is not the focus at this stage – neither after a win nor after a defeat. Both can quickly mislead us. Of course, we want to win every match, but it is precisely such tests that bring us many answers. Against a solid and aggressive team, we carried out a quality test from which we will be able to draw important conclusions.”
