The second winter newcomer of the current national champions is Bruno Lourenço.
The Portuguese footballer is the Dragons’ new reinforcement in the midfield! Bruno officially became a member of NK Olimpija Ljubljana today, and signed a contract with the club until the summer of 2029.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who is also comfortable in the wing positions, comes to Stožice from the Portuguese first league team AVS Futebol SAD. Lourenço is a product of the famous Benfica academy, and made his biggest mark in his senior career with Estoril and Boavista. In the past, he has also proven himself in Turkey, where he played for Amed SK.
He will wear number 8 in the green and white jersey, and will immediately join the team for training in Spain. Upon signing the contract, Lourenço told Olimpija fans: “I am very happy to have become a member of Olimpija. I believe in the project that is taking place at this club. I have a great desire to win trophies and help the team with goals and assists. The contract is signed, and now I am going to Spain, where I will meet new teammates and coaches. I can’t wait for my chapter in Slovenia to begin.”
Sports director Goran Boromisa adds: “Today, a footballer with exceptional quality and experience from the highest level of Portuguese football has joined the team. Bruno will be an added value in the middle of the field, which we lacked in the first half of the season. I hope that he will get to know his new teammates as soon as possible and show his quality.”
