  • Captain Doffo looks back on a major milestone

Before the November match in Stožice against Primorje, our captain Agustín Doffo was presented with a jersey with the number 150 on the back, symbolizing the number of appearances he has made in the Olimpija jersey. The Argentinian signed with the Dragons in July 2022 and, in his first season, as one of the key players, he and his teammates won the double crown. This was followed by two appearances in the UEFA Conference League and another celebration in the national championship at the end of the 2024/25 season. Doffo, who is extremely popular with the fans, also took over the captain’s armband before the start of the current season. During the winter break, he looked back on his first 150 appearances for the club’s website and shared his impressions of playing for Olimpija with us.

Looking back on the last three and a half years: which moment has stuck in your mind the most since you signed for Olimpija?

“I am proud and grateful for every moment I have spent in this jersey. Over the years, I have accumulated a lot of wonderful memories. In my first season, we won the double crown – an unforgettable start to the journey. Then came the European story, when, after a dramatic match against Ludogorets and Vidovšek’s penalty save in extra time, we qualified for Europe for the first time. It was extremely emotional.”

You have also experienced many successes in the Olimpija jersey. Which one are you most proud of?

“Last season and winning the national championship was something that no one expected from us. But we showed real character both in Europe, first in the qualifiers with an unforgettable 5:0 against Rijeka and reaching the knockout stages of the Conference League, and later in the domestic championship. We were at the top of the table from start to finish. A truly incredible season.”

What are your feelings on reaching the milestone of 150 games played in green and white?

“Many beautiful moments, a lot of pride – and I hope that this will continue in the future. A sincere thank you to everyone who is part of this story: the management, my teammates, the fans and, of course, my family. I have found my second home in Ljubljana, which makes this achievement even more meaningful to me.”
