National title and first time in the knockout rounds

In June 2024, Spaniard Víctor Sánchez del Amo took over as coach. Under his leadership, Olimpija excelled in the UECL qualifiers, defeating Ukrainian FC Polissya, Moldovan Sheriff Tiraspol, and Croatian Rijeka, who were beaten by an impressive 5:0 in a sold-out Stožice! Olimpija once again qualified for the group stage of the European competition.

In the revised competition system, the draw determined that Olimpija would face German Heidenheim, Austrian LASK, Finnish HJK, Northern Irish Larne FC, Belgian Cercle Brugge and Polish Jagiellonia.

Olimpija finished the first half of the season as the autumn champion of the domestic championship, thus consolidating its position among the best teams in Slovenia. On the European stage, with resounding victories and quality performances, it reached another historical milestone, as it wintered in Europe and qualified for the additional qualifications of the UECL competition!

This improved their previous international success and showed that they can compete equally with stronger European opponents. In the additional qualifiers, Olimpija will face a regionally attractive opponent, FK Borac Banja Luka, which has attracted a lot of attention from football fans in the region.

The club, led by coach Victor Sanchez, also won its eighth national title in independent Slovenia and its second since taking over the club.
