Dusan Kosic
The midfielder, born in Ljubljana in 1971, wore the Olimpija jersey during two different periods. The first period was short-lived, as Dušan Kosić stayed at Bežigrad for only one season. He returned in 1998 and remained for a long seven years. In total, he played 292 matches in the green-and-white jersey, including 235 in the national championship.
In independent Slovenia, no one has played more league matches for Olimpija. There were countless matches in which the footballer from Štepanjsko naselje wore the captain’s armband on his arm. On Olimpija’s all-time club ranking for most appearances, Kosić holds fifth place, with only Vili Ameršek, Tone Rožič, Miloš Šoškić, and Dimitrije Srbu having played more matches. After an illustrious playing career, Kosić transitioned into coaching, leading Celje to its first-ever national championship. He also managed Olimpija for 55 matches, securing 26 victories, 16 draws, and 13 defeats.
