  • Dejan Dončić Takes Over Youth Team

Dejan Dončić, an experienced coach with extensive experience in developing young footballers, will lead the U19 team going forward. He worked successfully at Domžale for many years, and in his career, he also managed the senior teams of Triglav and Nafta. In the 2023/24 season, he won the national youth championship title, which he aims to repeat in the new season in the Dragons’ colors.

Upon taking over the NK Olimpija Ljubljana youth team, Dončić stated: “As a Ljubljana native and former player of the club, I am very happy that this collaboration has come to fruition. This represents a great honor for me, but also a great responsibility. Our goal for the upcoming season is to prepare as many young players as possible to compete at the highest level, while also fighting for the national championship title. First and foremost, we will focus on forming the team. Many boys are coming from the cadet selection, and some will also be involved with the senior team. We definitely want to assemble a high-quality and competitive team.”

We thank the outgoing coach Jasmin Jerič for his dedicated work and significant contribution to the team’s development. We are pleased that he remains part of the club and will continue to be involved in the development of the green-and-white youth in the future.

The complete coaching pyramid for the younger selections for the new season will be presented shortly.
