After two excellent victories, the Dragons failed to conclude the year with another set of three points in the city derby. Marko Brest reduced the two-goal deficit towards the end of the match, but unfortunately, that was it. Olimpija enters the winter break as the fifth-placed team in the Prva liga Telemach.
Dragons’ strategist Federico Bessone was disappointed after the match: “I am very disappointed that we didn’t succeed. Apparently, my message to the players was not clear enough, and we didn’t understand what we needed to do in certain moments. We conceded the first goal from a set-piece, which is always difficult, and Bravo is a team that waits for your mistake and then punishes you. I should have prepared the match better.”
Bessone believes the break will be welcome: “Everything has been very intense in the last two months. Excessive thinking doesn’t benefit us, so the break will be good for us. Now we need to sit down, analyze what we need, and determine what changes we need to make,” added the strategist, who will gather his players again after the winter break in early January.
