Olimpija’s away trip in the 30th round of the Prva Liga Telemach ended in defeat. Two balls ended up in the green-and-whites’ net at Stadion Z’dežele, and Bessone’s men had no real response.
After the match in Celje, the Dragons’ head coach said: “At the start we were an equal opponent. In the opening minutes we created some space, but it’s hard to carry out the plan if the move doesn’t come together all the way. On the other side, the opponent manages that, and right now that’s the difference between the teams.”
“At half-time we made certain changes, were dangerous again, and even hit the woodwork, but it’s hard to do much more in that way. We conceded the second goal quickly from a counter-attack. Far too easily. Sometimes the plan doesn’t work, but this time we set things up well; however, due to a lack of quality we didn’t execute the plan and score at least once. Then the match might have unfolded differently.”
“We have to keep going. There are five matches left, there’s no time to dwell on it. We started the spring well, so I believe we can finish it the same way.”
