Marko Ristić, Peter Agba and Marko Brest brought the Dragons another important victory in the fight for the national title! After the Mura, the green and whites also defeated Radomlje in just a few days. This time, Matevž Vidovšek kept a clean sheet. He now has 51 in all competitions.
Victor Sanchez said after the 17th victory in the First League Telemach: “I am satisfied. We played the whole game very well. We were patient, we created a lot of chances on a very demanding surface. The result of 3:0 is excellent, but the victory could have been even higher. We fired more than 20 shots. The boys definitely deserved a break, and we will come back with significantly more energy.”
“The pitch was underwater in the morning, so we prepared for a more direct game without risk during the day. But when we arrived at the stadium, we found that the pitch was good and that we could play. Within half an hour we were back to basics. We have the opportunity to give different players a chance and they are all doing a good job.”
“If you don’t make mistakes, you’re closer to winning. That’s football. We’ve definitely learned something from the last few games. We didn’t make many this time, which is very important on a pitch like this. The key was to stay patient. When you miss chances, the nervousness grows, but we believed until the end again and deservedly won all three points.”
Following the international break and a short period without joint training, Olimpija will be back in action at the end of the month, when they host Bravo in Stožice on Sunday, March 30 at 5:30 PM.
