Olimpija’s players arrived in Banja Luka on Tuesday, where they will face their first European match in 2025 tomorrow at 9:00 PM. The Dragons’ opponent in the round of 16 will be the home team FK Borac.
In anticipation of a heated confrontation, Agustin Doffo spoke at a press conference before the official training session at the City Stadium: “We want to dominate, but we expect a demanding opponent who will try to threaten us with long passes. They will fight for every ball. Borac is not a random contender in the conference league playoffs. The atmosphere here is always good, the stadium will probably be full. But that doesn’t bother me. I like important matches like this. I played in Bosnia and Herzegovina three years ago and the league competition is considered very difficult. I could say that I have some experience from the greens here. Of course, I can say the same about the Slovenian league. Both leagues are demanding and it’s not easy to play anywhere. The Bosnian one is a bit more physical, they play more long balls and I think that’s the biggest difference.”
“We are satisfied with the way the season has gone, but we want more. We are aware that from now on every game will be like a final, both in the domestic championship and in the conference league. When you are winning, it is definitely easier to work and improve things.”
