Following the league defeat against Bravo, Olimpija’s players are continuing with their club duties. With the exception of four internationals, the rest of the squad remained in Ljubljana, where they are preparing for the final quarter of the championship. As part of this year’s first international break, the Dragons will also play a friendly match against NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, which will take place in the Croatian capital on Friday, March 27, at 12:00 PM.
Matevž Vidovšek and Jošt Urbančič have been called up to the senior national team, while Dino Kojić and Marko Ristić have joined the youth national team. Without their internationals, Federico Bessone’s squad remains focused on their work following Round 27 of the Prva Liga Telemach; the Dragons opened the new week with a morning training session.
“I am angry and disappointed because on Saturday we lost a game out of nowhere in which we could have closed the gap at the top of the table. It was a big missed opportunity, but that’s football. Now we must keep working, improve the details in our game, and finish the season in the top three. We need to focus on the small things and carefully analyze how we are conceding such soft goals. These are the questions we must find answers to during this break,” says Bessone.
The Green-and-Whites’ manager also spoke about the center-back’s injury: “As for Jelenković, who had to leave the pitch early, we will have to wait for further examinations, but at this moment I can say it is not a minor injury. More will, of course, be known in the coming days.”
After the break, Olimpija first heads for an away match in Murska Sobota, followed by a clash with Aluminij at home.
