After today’s official training session in Stožice, the interim coach of the Dragons, Ivan Senzen, stepped in front of the microphones for the first time. Accompanied by sports director Goran Boromisa, he touched on expectations for the European match against Egnatia.

Before his debut match on the green-whites’ bench, Senzen is focused on his team: “We’re focused on ourselves because we know we need to be at our peak. There’s no favorite in this match. Despite taking over the team about 24 hours ago, it’s clear that the atmosphere is positive. The players know what tomorrow’s game means, they know what it means to play for this club. We’ve had many conversations. I don’t want to reveal too much; regarding player selection, you’ll see everything tomorrow. But I know that Olimpija must play attacking football. We’ve analyzed the opponent well, but first and foremost, we’re focused on ourselves.”

Boromisa said about the change in first team management: “The decision was made after the end of the match with Celje. It was a tough loss for us, one of the toughest in recent years. I thank Simau, he was fair, but he stepped into big shoes. Of course, the players must also take responsibility. We’re continuing with a familiar face. Ivan Senzen is a person who has already been part of the club and knows the first team best. We’ll see going forward, game by game. The first goal is to overcome Egnatia. The atmosphere is very good for now, the players have responded well to the change we decided on.”
