Jorge Simão is the new head coach of Olimpia!

Change in the profession: An experienced Portuguese expert takes over the reins of the green and whites.

Olimpija Ljubljana Football Club announces that the team has a new coach. Jorge Simão has been appointed as the head coach of the current national champions for the 2025/26 season. He will be assisted in his work in the capital by Joao Correia and Fabio Nuno, with whom he has worked in the past.

The 48-year-old Portuguese comes to Ljubljana with extensive coaching experience from the strongest Portuguese league. In his career, he has managed numerous domestic teams, most recently Boavista, and previously Academica Viseu, Braga, Belenenses, Chaves, Santa Claro and Paços de Ferreiro. Abroad, he has worked as a head coach in Saudi Arabia (Al-Fayha) and Belgium (Mouscron).

His football style is based on an organized, intense and modern game, in which he places great emphasis on discipline, working with young people and tactical flexibility. Simão joins Olimpija before the start of the new competitive season with a clear goal – to keep the Dragons at the top of Slovenian football and successfully lead them to the European stage in the fight for the Champions League.

Welcome to Ljubljana, Mister!
