Excellent news comes from the NK Olimpija Ljubljana office today: Matevž Vidovšek is extending his collaboration with the Dragons until the summer of 2028. The popular Vida joined the Dragons in January 2021 and already won the double crown in 2023. In the following two seasons, he played a key role in qualifying for the UEFA Conference League and finished last season as the best goalkeeper of the championship, which he concluded by lifting the trophy with his teammates. His contribution and quality have not gone unnoticed at the national team level either, where he has established himself as a regular member of the Slovenian national team.
Vidovšek is currently still recovering from an injury and will join the team’s training in the coming weeks. Upon signing the contract, he told the club’s website: “I’m happy to extend my contract with Olimpija. This is a club that has always stood by me – in good times and bad. This time was no different. So I had no doubts about extending. I thank everyone at the club and can’t wait to return to training and help the team achieve its goals.”
Sports Director Goran Boromisa also didn’t hide his satisfaction with the extension: “Matevž is one of the fundamental pillars of Olimpija. I thank him for believing in our project. I hope he returns to the training process as soon as possible. Green Vida is our pillar – and will remain so in the future!”
