Ahead of the Dragons’ away trip to Murska Sobota on Saturday, Nemanja Motika has signed a new contract with NK Olimpija Ljubljana. The former Crvena zvezda and Bayern forward, who moved to Slovenia before the start of the 2023/24 season, will wear the green-and-white shirt until the summer of 2028.
“I’m happy to have extended my contract with a club I love. I’m convinced it’s the right decision for both sides. Olimpija have played in Europe two seasons in a row already, and that’s something the fans and the city deserve again. I’ll give everything to achieve the best possible results in the league, because the goal is clear. We want Europe! On this occasion, I’d like to thank the club management for their trust, and together with my teammates we’ll give our maximum in every next match, because only wins matter here,” said the 24-year-old forward.
The 23-year-old forward has recorded 10 goals and 10 assists in 52 league matches, 3 cup games and 18 European appearances. He scored his first goal for Olimpija in a home friendly against Hajduk, and in April 2024 he also contributed the green-and-whites’ 200th milestone goal in the Eternal Derby.
