New Dragon Forces

Olimpija’s footballers are intensely preparing for the season’s continuation in Torremirona, Spain. In addition to certain departures in the player roster, head coach Federico Bessone can also count on positive news, as important new and familiar faces have joined the team.

After a long absence, goalkeeper Matevž Vidovšek has rejoined training and is already in full training rhythm. At the same time, January signings Kelvin Ofori and Bruno Lourenço are training with the team, and the inclusion of ten members of the youth team is an important part of the preparations.

The head coach of the Green-Whites sees the return of the experienced goalkeeper as an extremely important reinforcement: “This is excellent news. First and foremost, I am very happy for him personally. In addition, we know what he will bring to the team: his energy, leadership skills, and hunger for good results.”

The new Dragons have quickly integrated into the team’s work, and Bessone welcomed their arrival with optimism: “I am satisfied with the reinforcements. It is important that we get new energy. They are also the type of footballers that we would have needed in the first part of the season. Ofori will be very useful to us with his speed on the right side. Bruno is a versatile midfielder; he can also play on the wing. This adaptability will be very important for the team in the continuation of the season.”

Special emphasis during preparations is also placed on players from the youth team: “It is important for them to train with the first team, as this gives them valuable experience. As a club, we are pursuing our goals with this. As a coach, I like that they are present also because I can help them progress, especially in the details required by professional football. Many of them will also get some playing time in the preparatory matches in the new week,” said Bessone.
