  • Overview of the November International Break

The last international break is approaching, which Olimpija’s team will use for intensive preparations for the eternal derby, scheduled for November 23 at Ljudski vrt. The first team will be missing three players who will be representing their countries.

Alex Matthias Tamm is heading to two away matches with Estonia. He and his teammates will first seek points in the World Cup qualifiers in Oslo against Norway, and then in Limassol against Cyprus. Mateo Aćimović and Slovenia face a challenging away match against the Netherlands in the Euro U21 qualifiers. This time, he won’t be joined by Dino Kojić, who is in the final phase of rehabilitation after a minor ankle injury.

Players from the youth team have also received call-ups. Žiga Pečjak and Inas Kukavica, who recently signed his first professional contract, have been invited to join the Slovenian U19 national team. Miljan Pantić (Bosnia and Herzegovina U19) and Danylo Malov (Ukraine U19) have also received call-ups to their respective youth national teams.

From the U17 selection, Luka Karapetrović and Tristan Kotar have been called up to the Slovenian national team, with Kotar earning his call-up after an exceptional hat-trick in the cadet league match against Koper. In the European Championship qualifiers, they will face Wales, Liechtenstein, and Portugal.

We wish all the boys the best of luck!
