The footballer born in Madrid spent his entire youth career at Real Madrid. He played for the club for over 10 years, up to the U21 level. He then transferred to Swansea City. There he continued his development in the youth team, regularly joining the training sessions of the national team for which his younger brother Aimar Govea is currently playing.

He went to MLS with Cincinnati for the 2021/22 season, and got his chance to play regularly after returning to Europe in Bulgaria. He will wear the green and white jersey from the 2024/25 season.
