Mateo Aćimović is a product of the youth school of NK Olimpija Ljubljana, where he signed his first professional contract. At the age of just 16, he made his debut for the Olimpija national team, making him one of the youngest debutants in the club’s history.

At national team level, he is a regular member of Slovenian youth teams, where his excellent performances confirm his status as one of the most promising players of his generation. In addition to his success on the pitch, he is also the son of former Slovenian national team player Milenko Aćimović, which is a testament to the football talent that has been passed down from generation to generation.
