The Green-Whites are ready for their first European challenge of the new season! After intensive preparations and hard work under the guidance of new strategist Jorge Simao, the team confidently enters the first round of Champions League qualifiers.
The first hurdle on this year’s international journey is Kazakhstan’s FC Kairat Almaty: “I think three wins in four pre-season matches provide a good foundation. We are all eagerly awaiting the official start, and if we continue like this in the future, we have nothing to fear. I urge the fans to turn out in full force. I guarantee that we will give our all,” says young midfielder Mateo Aćimović.
Marko Brest, who participated in the recent U21 European Championship in Germany, also shared his thoughts before Europe: “After the Euro, Kojić and I returned home and I think we adapted well to the new way of working. There are some changes compared to last year, but I believe that as a team we will look good on the field and immediately achieve a positive result against Kairat. I hope for loud support, as we can only succeed together.”
