NK Olimpija Ljubljana strongly condemns the inappropriate and offensive message that was broadcast over the public address system at the Ljudski vrt stadium before the start of the eternal derby in Maribor.

According to initial information, the PA system was at that moment connected to the concert program of NK Maribor’s fan group. Nevertheless, we emphasize that there is no place for such content in a football stadium, and it should have been properly monitored by the responsible organizer.

Offensive and inappropriate messages directed against our club and our fans are unacceptable.

We therefore expect clear assurances from the responsible persons at the NZS that this act will be appropriately addressed and sanctioned. We emphasize that preventing the recurrence of such incidents is essential – regardless of whether the PA system is operated by the club or external contractors.

NK Olimpija Ljubljana will continue to advocate for principles of respect and healthy sporting rivalry between the clubs. We also sincerely thank our fans for their loud and numerous support.
