Statements have been made in recent days that arose in an emotional moment but do not reflect my views.
As a reminder: we are referring to the controversial penalty in the Bravo – Radomlje match and the disallowed regular goal in the Olimpija – Bravo match.
It is always easy to open discussions after a match, but today I believe that in certain decisions, there was a lack of judgment under extreme pressure. This is not a criticism, but a warning about potential consequences.
The accumulation of serious refereeing decisions can jeopardize trust in the integrity of the competition.
I am confident that the Football Association of Slovenia will thoroughly address all situations that have affected not only Olimpija – both positively and negatively – but also other clubs. I believe the association will do everything possible to minimize similar unfortunate situations in the future.
Olimpija and Maribor are clubs that significantly mark Slovenian football, while Celje and Koper also play an important role alongside them. All clubs deserve respect and recognition for their achievements.
Congratulations to Celje for the deserved national championship title and to Koper for securing second place. Special recognition also to Bravo for third place and Aluminij for winning the cup.
At the same time, I wish all Slovenian representatives a successful performance in European competitions. May they represent Slovenian football with dignity.
Unfortunately, speculations have also emerged about a possible boycott of the last Bravo – Olimpija match. I want to clearly emphasize: Olimpija will never knowingly violate the rules and regulations of UEFA and the Football Association of Slovenia. As long as I am the owner and president of NK Olimpija Ljubljana, a match boycott is out of the question.
The club faces a period of reorganization and renewal. Our goal remains clear – to bring the national championship title back to Ljubljana.
On this occasion, I would also like to thank the players whose contracts expire at the end of the season – Doff, Muhamedbegović, Kurtić, Blanco, and Ofori – for their contribution and professional attitude in the Olimpija jersey.
Special thanks go to our fans, who stand by the club through good and bad times.
Thank you also to our 12th player. If loyalty has a name, then that name is Green Dragons.
Thank you.
Adam Delius
President of NK Olimpija
