Olimpija’s footballers secured an important victory over Koper in Sežana. The Dragons triumphed 3-1 in the 9th round of the Prva Liga Telemach, marking their third win in the last four league matches. After the clash, Olimpija’s head coach Jugoslav Trenčovski shared his thoughts, making no secret of his satisfaction.
“First of all, congratulations to the boys; they deserved the win because they gave it their all. We knew what we wanted. It was a bit tense and aggressive, especially until half-time, but then we successfully took control. Of course, we had the man advantage after the sending-off. We made the most of it. As I have said before, if we believe in ourselves and respect one another, the goals will come.”
“I think we have broken through a mental block and taken another important step forward. We are like a half-empty ketchup bottle. When you squeeze, nothing comes out, and then suddenly it all opens up. Slow and steady wins the race. We move forward and stay positive. I hope we continue in this rhythm.”
“In the end, this victory goes to our Dragons, who came to support us again. In the last match, they supported us from outside the stadium and we scored three goals. Today they were with us in the stands and we scored three goals again. Therefore, I expect even more of them at the next match against Bravo. I hope we will be successful again and score even more goals.”
