Third summer rookie: The 22-year-old represents the new power in the heart of the defense

The current national champions have been joined by central defender Veljko Jelenković ahead of the start of summer preparations. The young Bulgarian international has recently signed a contract with Olimpija until the summer of 2028. He has joined the Dragons as a free agent.

Born in Serbia, with a Bulgarian passport, Jelenković completed his football education in his native Novi Sad near Vojvodina. He also developed at FK Kabel and OFK Bečej, where he gained his first serious experience in club football as a teenager.

In 2022, the young defender, who is best suited to the right-back position, moved to Bulgaria. There, he played for three seasons with the first-tier Slavia Sofia, making 63 appearances for the club. With his composure and reliability, he is definitely an important addition to the green-and-white back line.
