It’s time again for the Pivovarna Union Cup, in which the Dragons eliminated Domžale and Šenčur in the first two rounds. Tomorrow, Thursday, December 4th, at 6 PM, the round of 16 match is scheduled, when Celje will be hosted in Stožice. Before the match, Olimpija’s strategist, Federico Bessone, also took some time for press questions.
He summarized his expectations with the words: “We know how important tomorrow’s match is. Not only for the club, but also for us as a team that is growing in many ways. The guys are progressing from training to training and I believe that they are ready to compete equally with Celje and eliminate them from the cup.”
About the aggressive approach from the previous match: “In the last match against Celje in the league, we were aggressive because they are a team that you must not allow to play without pressure. This is very important against Celje, but I demand this from my players in every match.”
Olimpija will once again be without the top scorer of this season: “Regarding the composition of the team, we have a problem in attack, as Ivan Durdov will be absent for 4 to 6 weeks. I hope he will be ready for the start of winter preparations. Nevertheless, we have a wide squad. Right in the position of central striker, we have two very strong options in Tam and Pedro Lucas. In the last match, we could not count on Brest and Jelenković due to illness, but they will be back in the squad tomorrow. We have no other problems.”
